The USAIGC/IAIGC Competitive Program provides an environment that fosters and nurtures the attributes of a sound mind, sound body leading to successful healthy and well-rounded young ladies. Leaders for tomorrow!

The Sport of Gymnastics creates special individuals. Individuals that are a head above their peers and develop into strong, intelligent young ladies, goal oriented, success driven, disciplined, excellent time management skills and learning to handle success and failure. It is the process of becoming a gymnast that develops these outstanding individuals, not scores, not placements nor competitive levels. These intangible skills developed through gymnastics will prepare our gymnasts for tomorrow’s world, making them tomorrows’ leaders!

USAIGC established 1973. Reorganized 2001.
A new competitive direction begins:  Compulsory program eliminated. An Optional Only College Bound Competitive Program created to provide our Gymnasts and Coaches a large variety of gymnastic skills to develop instead of restrictive mandatory compulsory skills. A Code of Points was developed with our Voting Club Members using the Collegiate Rules as our guide.  This opened the International Gymnastic Doors allowing us to form an International Association of Independent Gymnastic Clubs.

Our Competitive Program is built on long-term skill development with the intentional slowing down of our gymnasts’ learning curve providing the necessary time to develop and perfect gymnastic skills in a logical, progressive and safe manner.

Our Association recommends realistic training hours. We do not believe in the18+hour workweek. Over-training is the reason gymnasts leave our sport. Our Competitive program provides our gymnasts with ample time for school responsibilities, family activities and time to maintain an outside life with friends. Life is about experiences and the USAIGC provides a positive competitive experience for its gymnasts.

Competitive Options: prevent gymnasts “frustration” of being stuck in a competitive level. (1). The skill level determines the competitive level they enter our program in.  (2). Mobility to the next competitive level is decided by the Coach not a score, mobility does not have to be in progressive order. It is based on the gymnasts’ mastery of skills. (3). Gymnasts’ may compete on two consecutive competitive levels (maximum six events). All-Around Gymnasts may compete “up to two events” on their next competitive level. Individual Event Specialists may compete on up to two events on two consecutive competition levels with no duplication of events. (4). Qualification: State/Regional Championships: from any USAIGC Sanctioned Competition in the USA or Internationally. (5). World Championship: any State and/or Regional Championship in the USA or Internationally. (6). State and Regional Championships are World Qualifying Competitions. (7). Three Competitive Platforms: All Around, Individual Event Specialist and Team. (7). International Competition open to all Competitive Levels

THIS IS WHAT THE USAIGC COMPETITIVE PROGRAM IS ALL ABOUT!
